A resolution requesting the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region VI for an extension of route in relation to the request of Estefania Barangay Captain Jerry Tingson for PUVs plying the route of Estefania, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod recently.

The resolution authored by Councilor Al Victor Espino, chair of the SP Committee on Transportation and Traffic, said the honorable body acknowledges the importance of considering the perspective of local communities and jeepney operators in public transportation.

It said residents of Cityville Subdivision requested the inclusion of the main road of their subdivision in the route system of public utility vehicles (PUVs) from Fortune Towne to Central Market.

It is the recommendation of this honorable body to evaluate and implement the said additional jeepney route, the resolution said.

The chairman of the Committee on Transportation and Traffic urged the LTFRB to conduct a thorough assessment for the proposed additional routes, taking into account factors such as population density, transportation demand, and accessibility, it added.
