Davao City – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources XI Technology Outreach Station (TOS) Nabunturan personnel and other regional office staff were sent to Mindanao Freshwater Fisheries Technology Center, University of Southern Mindanao Compound in North Cotabato to learn how to replicate their technology in growing Tilapia in enormous numbers.
Due to increasing demand of quality Tilapia fingerlings, OIC, Regional Director Alfeo G. Piloton initiated the training of the TOS Nabunturan personnel and other regional office staff last August 18 to 19, 2020. The training is on the technology in maintaining the prolificacy of the breeders and their techniques in egg collection.
BFAR XI sets an ambitious yet doable goal to triple its Tilapia production in order to cater the growing demands of quality Tilapia fingerlings in the region. Making the Tilapia culture dynamic and phenomenal once again in the country. (BFAR XI)
