Baguio: 82 Former Rebels Gets Livelihood Assistance

Abra – Eighty-two former rebels from the province of Abra received a total of  ₱ 1,739 million in livelihood grants from the Department of Labor and Employment Integrated Livelihood Program during a ceremony held on Tuesday, November 9.

The livelihood assistance includes 56 hogs, four boxes of farm chickens, four goats, and 18 sari-sari store packages amounting to ₱ 1,739,947 to help them start anew after returning to the folds of the law.

The program was spearheaded by Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO) in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – CAR,

PCOL John C. Chua, PROCOR Deputy Regional Director for Operations said that he is grateful with the results of various ELCAC activities that helps former rebels to start a new life.

He called on the remaining rebels to return to the folds of the law to live in peace and to avail the benefits that the government is offering.
