The City of Bacolod is celebrating the annual Bible Week, starting today to February 1.
The celebration is embodied in City Ordinance No. 433, authored by Councilor Renecito Novero and approved in 2007, institutionalizing the annual celebration of Bacolod City Bible Week every last week of January.
Acting City Mayor El Cid Familiaran and Novero are inviting everyone, especially pupils, students, and teachers of elementary and secondary schools to join the celebration.
The opening ceremony of the 2019 Bible Week celebration will be held today at the Bacolod City Government Center.
Also today, the Gideons International in the Philippines- Bacolod will distribute bibles in all BCGC offices.
Today there will be an on-the-spot poster-making contest for elementary and high school students at the Bacolod City Public Library. Their artworks will be displayed at the second floor of the BCGC starting Jan. 30.
On Wednesday, Jan. 30, there will be a Bible Drill and Bible Quiz for high school students at the MassKara Hall of BCGC.
The celebration will be capped with a concert by the Pillars of Fire, and awarding ceremony at the atrium of SM City Bacolod.(NDB)*
