Davao City – The combined Intelligence Operatives of Police Regional Office (PRO) 11, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) XI, 1002 Brigade, Team Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP), 16 Infantry Battalion (IB), 3IB and troops from 102DRC, and with the support of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations in Eastern Mindanao (DIPO-EM) arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest Marcos Requina in his residence at Sitio Bakayan, Brgy. Sagundanon, Kitaotao, Bukidnon.
Requina is a former Secretary of Front Committee Kara, Western Mindanao Regional Committee (WMRC) and listed as the 23rd Most Wanted CPP-NPA-Terrorists’ (CNTs) of Joint (Department of National Defense) DND-(Department of Interior and Local Government) DILG Joint Order on Reward.
He has standing WARRANT OF ARREST FOR MURDER before the Regional Trial Court Branch 18 of Zamboanga del Sur with No recommended Bail Bond.
Requina joined the Semi Legal team, Front KARA, WMRC in 1985 and has been engaged with the NPAs until the year 2015. During these periods he held positions, such as squad leader and platoon medic. He was a member of functional staff as Intel/CIT of Section Committee KARA (EXECOM), and Vice Commanding Officer of 1st Platoon from 2007 – 2012.
He was part of the team that harassed Patrol Base of 55 IB, 1st Division in 2000.
He will be temporarily held at Davao City Police Office (DCPO) detention facility prior to his transfer to Zamboanga del Sur for the return of warrant of arrest and his committal to their Provincial Rehabilitation Center.
With this, PRO 11 Regional Director, PBGen. Filmore B. Escobal lauded the unified efforts of participating units and the support of DIPO-EM for the peaceful operation that led to the successful arrest of Requina. He added that Requina’s arrest could give the Philippine National Police and the allied forces an edge to get information that could be used in identifying other personalities of the CPP-NPA.
