Around 6:50 P.M. yesterday, October 13, 2022, a shooting incident transpired in Lumiyap, Barangay Divisoria, Zamboanga City.
The victims were identified as Alvin Perez, 49 years old, male, married; a contractor by profession and a resident of Lumiyap, Barangay Divisoria, his two companions on board a Grey Toyota Limgene were Danny Boy Bellesa and Regie Bartolome.
According to police reports, the three (3) victims were on their way home, then allegedly four (4) unidentified male motorcycle-riding suspects approached and fired against them using M16 Riffles. Perez sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of his body, Danny Boy Bellesa was also shot at the right side of his body, while Regie Bartolome was unharmed. Right after the commission of the crime, the culprits immediately fled towards unknown direction.
Victims we’re immediately rushed to Zamboanga Peninsula Hospital for treatment. Perez has been declared dead in the said medical facility, while Ballesa is currently in a stable condition.
In a phone patch Inter interview, personnel from ZCPS5 said, that there were more than sixty (60) cartridge cases found in the crime scene. Zamboanga City Police Station 5 in coordination with SOCO conducted a thorough investigation to ascertain the motive behind the crime and lead to the possible arrest of the suspects.
