Zamboanga: Mayor Beng Climaco leads the inspection of the Labuan Sea Breeze Housing Project

Mayor Beng Climaco  Thursday leads the inspection of the Labuan Sea Breeze Housing Project, the relocation site promised by President Rodrigo Duterte for families displaced by the July 2018 fire incident in Labuan.

Phase 1 of the project is almost complete while phase 2 is ongoing. Awarding of units is set later next month.

The inspection, done Thursday, April 28, was joined by Councilors Pinpin Pareja, El King Omaga and Benidigong Asgali, representatives from the National Housing Authority (NHA), Zamcelco, City Engineer’s Office (CEO), Labuan Barangay Council and tribal leaders who will be among the beneficiaries of the housing units.

Phase 1 of the Sea Breeze Subdivision project consists of 138 units while phase 2 consists of 273 housing units that will benefit the total  411 families affected by the 2018 fire incident.

Undertaken by the NHA through Nurben Engineering and Building Construction, the project is a collaborative effort with the City Government which purchased the 36,062 square meters lot where it is located.

President Duterte visited barangay Labuan July 26, 2018, a few days after the huge fire in the area, and promised to provide housing units to all those affected by the Labuan fire.
