At least 186 families were selected recipients of free business franchises in line with the city government’s Project Honest Opportunities for Philippine Entrepreneurs (HOPE).
Implemented by the Public Employment Service Office and the City Social Welfare and Development Office in collaboration with other agencies, Project HOPE entitiles each beneficiary to receive 21 business franchises which will be given in tranches, depending on the success rate.
The project forms part of Mayor John Dalipe’s thrust on economic recovery and relief for residents hardest hit by the pandemic and other challenges.
The 186 families compose the first batch of beneficiaries who received the first irst 3 franchises – rice, e-loading, payment center.
The launching activity held at KCC Mall de Zamboanga in Gov Camins also gave the project partnees tve opportunity to introduce other business opportunities. The Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI) discussed the topic financial literacy, the BDO talked about MSME loan program while Ford Zamboanga presented the features of the Ford Ranger and the car incentive that will be given to the best area franchiser (area supervisor).
Present during the event were Mayor John Dalipe, represented by Councilor Jerome Santos and Councilor Carry John Pioc, City Social Welfare and Development Officer Ma Socorro Rojas and newly assumed DOLE Zamboanga City Field Office Chief Ma. Elena Alabata who spearheaded the turnover of free business franchises.
