The Zamboanga City government through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) is set to hire some 1,400 students and Out-of-School Youth (OSY) under its Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES).
City Social Welfare Officer Socorro Rojas said the students and youth will be employed by the City Government and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) from July 23 to August 14.
The students can be from college, high school or vocational schools. All program beneficiaries must be 21 to 30 years old.
Each beneficiary will receive a daily salary of P503.09. Sixty percent of this will be paid for by the City Government, while 40% percent will be shouldered by DOLE.
Rojas said SPES beneficiaries will assist Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) and aid in disinfection and sanitation.
She also said that the program beneficiaries must follow health protocols.
Applicants for the SPES should present their birth certificate, school certificate, indigency certificate and a 2×2 picture.
