The city government of Zamboanga now made available to the public the Centralized COVID Data Center or Covid tracker to create an online platform that will synchonized and centralized all data related to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Alan Aizon, Zamboanga City Coordinator and Computer Services Division Chief told RPN DXXX, this ZC COVID Tracker can be accessed by the public through its web address of bit.ly/covid-zc.

The website was developed by the Computer Programmers of the Computer Services Division and the data content was identified by the City Planning and Development Office. While the data itself comes from the COVID Operations Center.

The website have a dashboard that will show graphs, charts, and data tables of information involving the pandemic such as an up-to-date count of confirmed and suspect cases, including the breakdown of those cases according to type, identification, sex, age and status. It also contains information on positivity rate, doubling time and the 7-day moving average that may provide insights on the speed at which the infection is spreading. Information on the occupancy of quarantine, isolation, and treatment facilities are also made available, including the inventory of equipment, supplies and Personnel Protective Equipments in hospital establishments.

These data are needed to provide the medical experts as well as the different officials of the city the capability to analyze and plan the correct course of action. Another objective of the team is to create an online website that will provide up-to-date information to the public such as the actual count of confirmed and suspect cases, some useful graphs and charts and a mapping presentation of the cases.

This was also created as an ad-hoc structure created to manage the data requirements for the LGU COVID-related operations. The Team is led by the Computer Services Division of the Office of the City Mayor and the Research, Evaluation and Statistics Division of the Office of the City Planning and Development Coordinator and the Surveillance Unit of the Office of the City Health Officer.

Aizon said, the website is still a work in progress and the team will continue to improve the website based on the recommendation of the Health Experts.

“The battle plan in Zamboanga to heal the sick and feed the hungry, begins with mutual trust, cooperation and strong resolve between the government and the community. Through COVID-19 Data Center tracker, the city government shares to each family the responsibility of successfully containing the novel disease with reliable data and effective risk communication,” Aizon added.
