Almost a hundred boys aged 8 to 19 availed of free circumcision services Monday and Tuesday (May 18 and 19) at Pettit Barracks in Zone IV, as the City Health Office (CHO) continued its Free Operation Tuli program in line with the city government’s preventive healthcare initiatives for the youth.

Spearheaded by the CHO under Dr. Dulce Miravite, the medical outreach program runs until Friday, May 22, catering to beneficiaries from various barangays through scheduled district-based services aimed at ensuring wider access to basic health interventions.

The initiative earlier kicked off Tuesday, May 12 in the Ayala District, followed by Calarian District Wednesday and a subsequent rollout at Pettit Barracks on May 14, bringing essential health services closer to communities across the city.

CHO personnel also accommodated walk-in clients during the day to allow more eligible youth to benefit from the program and ensure inclusive service delivery.

Circumcision is recognized for promoting proper genital hygiene and helping reduce the risk of certain infections, forming part of the city government’s continuing public health and preventive care efforts for young Zamboangueños.

For inquiries, the CHO encourages the public to visit Pettit Barracks or contact 991-3780. (Arvin Midel) (photo credits: CHO Cold Chain Division)
