Davao City: The Davao City government is still accepting walk-in applicants for the open slots under the TUPAD #BKBK (Barangay Ko, Bahay Ko) Program – a partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Special Programs Manager Commissioner Norman Baloro said that his office has just finished accepting application in the 11 administrative districts of Davao City through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO). Acceptance of applications will continue at the Magsaysay Park.

According to Baloro, out of the 6,274 slots under the program, 5,372 were already taken.

“With the available slots nga 902, isa sa mga strategies nga ginabuhat sa LGU Davao special projects is naga-conduct ta og daily orientation at the Magsaysay Park (One of the strategies of the LGU Davao special projects is to conduct daily orientation at the Magsaysay Park for the available 902 slots),” Baloro said.

All qualified but still unserved and left out Dabawenyos could directly go to Magsaysay Park for the orientation and assessment. They are accepting applicants on Mondays to Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon.

“Ang kagwapo aning orientation, if they listen to the entire rationale of the program, and once they are qualified enrolled dayon sila sa program. Sa ilang paglingkod ug pagpaminaw, and after assessment they are qualified, day one na na sa ilang trabaho (What’s good in this orientation is if they listen to the entire rationale of the program and, if they are qualified,  they are already enrolled in the program. They sit and listen and they qualify after the assessment – that’s already day one of their work),” Baloro said.

He said that the whole process from the orientation to filling out of the forms will only run for around 30 minutes.

Baloro said applicants should bring a valid government-issued ID and proof that their work is affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Each beneficiary under the TUPAD #BKBK program will receive P6,000 for 15 days of community work. CIO, Michael Manguhig RPN Dxkt Davao
