Two women were nabbed for Estafa here in Zamboanga City following a entrapment operation Monday afternoon at downtown Zamboanga.
Regional Police Spokesman P/Capt. Edwin Duco identified the two women as Maria Merlin Feliciano y Dela Cruz, 55 years old, female, married, of Purok II, Cabatangan, Zamboanga City and Noymi Dela Cruz y Eijansantos, 36 years old, female, married, of Tictapul, Zamboanga City.
After the entrapment, the police under Police Station 11 confiscated from the possession of Maria Merlin Feliciano y Dela Cruz were Ten (10) bills of 1,000.00 pesos used marked money and ₱ 290,000.00 boodle money, acknowledge receipt, TIN Identification Card and Philhealth Identification Card.
Duco said, per investigation there was a complaint on August 27, 2020, where the sellers representing themselves as Agripina Siason Francisco and Esperanza Francisco together with complainant’s daughter Jewel R. Inson as buyer, executed the Deed of Extrajudicial Settlement of Estates with Sale. In view of the said sale, she has paid an approximate amount of one million two hundred thousand pesos (₱ 1, 200,000.00) which also covered the assumption of mortgage. That upon processing the transfer of title in favor of her daughter Jewel R Inson, she has discovered that the title presented was null and void by virtue of the issuance of a new owner’s duplicate of title.
As a follow up the entrapment was planned to have a succeeding transaction, which resulted to the arrest of the duo, Duco concluded.
