Top Army Commander In Northern Caraga Visits 30IB Fight On Troopers

The Commander of the 901st Brigade, Philippine Army heightens security and health awareness of the soldiers at the Battalion Headquarters of 30th Infantry Battalion in Brgy Mahanub, Gigaquit town last July 24, 2020, Friday.

Col. George L Banzon, Army’s 901st Brigade Commander visited the Battalion headquarters of the 30th IB purposely to determine the operational preparedness of the unit and to personally extend his congratulations to the troops for the successful military operations which yielded high-powered firearms and numerous war materials recovered from the enemy last July 20, 2020 in Brgy. Camp Edward, Alegria, Surigao del Norte.

He was accompanied by his Deputy Brigade Commander Col. Arnold Bernardo together with the Brigade Staff Officers.

Upon their arrival, the visitors were warmly welcomed by Lt. Colonel Ryan Charles G Callanta, Commanding Officer of 30IB along with the organic personnel of the Battalion which was highlighted with a display of assorted firearms, ammunition, numerous war materials and subversive documents that were recovered from the enemy during 2nd Quarter this year.

Col. Banson reviewed the development support and security plan of the Battalion and issued his guidance to ensure that the peace and security concerns of economic firms and business establishments in the area are continuously addressed. He also interacted with the soldiers appreciating their efforts in maintaining peace and order in Surigao del Norte Province.

In his message, he exhorted the ranks to continue possessed the high state of operational readiness, maintain the highest standard of military discipline and undertake all precautionary measures to preserve them from the recent COVID19 pandemic.

“Let us sustain our operational tempo, I believed we are winning in this campaign and we will continue to run after the enemy. Congratulations on your accomplishment and I urge everyone to keep up the good work, we must not also forget to protect ourselves from the COVID19 pandemic by strict adherence to the DOH Protocol”, he said.

Meanwhile, Lt. Colonel Callanta expressed his gratitude to Col. Banson for his time and effort during his visit. “It was an honor for me and to the rest of my troops to be visited by the Brigade Commander despite his hectic schedule and the health risk from the Pandemic. I thanked him for his command supervision and support rendered to the Fight On Troops.”

“With the guidance of the Brigade and implementation of our security plan, we will continue to press the fight against the Communist Insurgents that intend to disrupt the peace and development efforts of government particularly in Surigao del Norte Province”, he added. (901st Infantry Brigade)
