Police operatives of Labason Municipal Police Station (MPS) together with elements of 42nd Infantry Battalion of Phil Army, Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office, 901st Company of RMFB9, 2nd Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company and NISGWM conducted a joint manhunt operation at Brgy. New Salvacion, Labason, Zamboanga del Norte at 1:55 PM of September 27, 2020.
The operation resulted in the arrest of Asmad Abdul Arasi, 33 yrs old, of Brgy. New Salvacion, Labason, Zambonaga del Norte (Top 1 Most Wanted Person), and Amerin Budlo Salihon, 34 yrs old and a resident of Brgy. Kipit, Labason, Zamboanga del Norte.
Subject persons were arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrests for the crime of Multiple Attempted Murder with Assault Upon Persons in Authority against Amerin Salihon with Criminal Case L-002200 dated March 15, 2018 with bail bond recommended amounting to ₱ 120, 000.00, Six Warrant of Arrests charged against Asmad Arasi; Murder with Criminal Case No. L-002083 dated Jan. 28, 2018 No bail recommended, Murder with Multiple Attempted Murder Criminal Case No. L-002131 dated Jan. 28, 2015 no bail recommended, Frustrated Murder with Criminal Case No. L-002028 dated Dec. 12, 2012 bail bond recommended amounting to ₱ 200, 000.00, Frustrated Murder with Criminal Case No. L-002132 dated Jan. 28, 2015 with no bail bond recommended, Multiple Attempted Murder with Criminal Case No. L-003963 dated June 22, 2020 with bail bond recommended amounting to ₱ 120,000.00, and Grave Threats with Criminal Case No. 3744 dated May 16, 2017 with bail bond recommended amounting to ₱ 12, 000.00.
All warrant of arrests was issued by Judge Oscar D. Tomarong of RTC, Branch 28, Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte. Arrested accused are now under the custody of Labason MPS for proper disposition. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
