The Philippine Sports Commission visits Zamboanga City


Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Richard Bachmann, Commissioner Edward Hayco and Planning Division Chief Dr. Lauro Domingo visited City Government of Zamboanga Mayor John Dalipe on Saturday, as the city’s Sports Development Services Division led by SDO-IV Dr. Cecil Atilano and Councilor Bong Atilano present their Grassroots Sports Development Program to the PSC moving forward for a unified grassroots sports development program for the country.

The PSC Board also got a chance to visit Hidilyn Diaz Weightlifting Gym at Brgy. Mampang and met her parents Eduardo and Emelita.

The sports agency chief also sat down with 2022 Asian Weightlifting Championships bronze medalist and Zamboanga-native Rose Jean Ramos and other grassroots talents training in the gym.

Chairman Bachmann and Commissioner Hayco sat down with the 17 Board Members of the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) in their General Assembly, partnering with the group for the upcoming PRISAA National Games to be held in Zamboanga City from July 13 to 16.

Dr. Atilano went around the Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex with the PSC Board to check the city’s facilities and present the many sports program offerings.
