Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City – The Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU) 13 with their mandate to continue to progress on its transformation journey of becoming a highly responsive and dynamic unit towards a safer cyber environment, has never limited their efforts with their accomplishments from January 1, 2021 to December 20, 2021.
POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M CARAMAT JR., PRO13 Regional Director stated that the improved crime solution through Cybercrime Investigation, RACU13 received 58 cybercrime complaints on estafa, libel, RA 9995 ” “Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009”, RA 11313 “Safe Spaces Act”, unjust vexation, aiding and abetting, and identity theft; 24 cases filed in courts thru regular filing, one case thru Inquest; 12 complaints were resolved thru other means; and 24 incidents are under investigation.
Together with their accomplishment, in Digital Forensic Examination, RACU13 received four requests for forensic examination from Different Local Police Stations and Units with gathered 18 evidences subject for examination.
With the campaign on Internal Security Operations and Counter-Terrorism, 216 cyber patrolling on Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) to determine the plans and activities of the rebels were conducted for a year duration.
In addition, RACU has always maintained and sustained its partnership and collaboration with stakeholders and other Pillars of Criminal Justice System (CJS) as well as the community relation activities.
“As PNP Caraga has intensified its monitoring of cybercrimes, we urge the people of not to be afraid to report those who should be held accountable by law, as RACU13 continues to spread information about human rights violations for all to be aware of,” RD CARAMAT JR concluded.
