Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City – The swift response of Jabonga Municipal Police Station personnel led to the arrest of the suspect that left an individual wounded on a shooting incident last night (November 6) in Jabonga, Agusan del Norte.
POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M CARAMAT JR revealed that the shooting incident that victimized Roel Cortes Pensinaves, 56 years old, married, engine mechanic, and a resident of P-1, Brgy. Santo Niño. Magallanes, Agusan del Norte through accidental firing transpired at the house of the suspect.
The suspect was identified as Danilo Biod Salino, 46 years old, and a resident of P-8 Brgy. San Vicente, Jabonga, Agusan del Norte who at his own accord yielded to Jabonga Municipal Police Station.
Investigation revealed that the suspect exhibited his firearm without magazine to the victim whose fixing an engine pump boat. He pulled the trigger unknowingly the pistol was loaded that resulted to the incident.
“After the victim was shot in his left leg, he was immediately transported to Agusan del Norte Provincial Hospital for medical treatment,” regions top cop confirmed.
Caliber .45 pistol, bearing serial number 648572 with one Magazine, three live ammunition and one empty shell was turned-over.
“I commend the operatives of Jabonga MPS for the swift response that led to the arrest of the suspect. This is a reminder to individuals with licensed firearms, do not overlooked the firearms safety rules so that no negligent discharges that may result to injury or death,” RD CARAMAT JR stated.
The operatives are now in the process of preparing documents needed for the filing of charges against the suspect for frustrated murder and violation of Republic Act 10591 “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act”. (PMaj. Dorothy M. Tumulak)
