Surigao: Mayor Dumlao welcomes US Special Operations Command delegation for Crisis Preparedness Evaluation

Surigao City Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II welcomed the esteemed U.S. Special Operations Command Pacific delegation, including PNP Deputy Director PBGEN Chito G. Bersaluna and PNP Chief ISOD PCOL Raniel M. Valones, in a courtesy call today, January 15, 2024.

Joining the visit were key officials such as FCSUPT Rommel Tradio, PCOL James Goforth, PCOL Laudemer M. Laude, PLTCOL Diomedes B. Cuadra Jr., and FSINSP Eduardo P. Quinto, Jr.

The collaborative visit discussed the upcoming Tempest Wind exercise in Province of Surigao del Norte which will include Surigao City. The Temptest Wind is an excercise that evaluates the City’s readiness and capacity to respond to crises brought about terrorist acts and other forms of violence with international implications.

Mayor Dumlao supports the upcoming Tempest Wind exercise, emphasizing its capacity for positive transformation and sustainable development within Surigao City. This underscores his unwavering commitment to cultivating a resilient and thriving community.

Notable members of the U.S. Special Operations Command Pacific delegation include Joseph Gantley Sokol, John Marshal Ascenzo, Scott Robert Lidick, Christopher Mulhall, Arrin Langdon, and Halbert Bruce.
