The local government unit of Claver headed by Hon. Georgia D. Gokiangkee in partnership with the Municipal Agriculture Office started the distribution of 157 bags of certified seeds last Thursday, December 2 at the DRRM Building.
Said planting materials through Palay Seeds Subsidy Program are funded under the Trust Fund and the Gender and Development Fund, where farmers will pay only half of the total amount per bag.
During the pre-distribution program, Hon. Georgia expressed that next year, palay seeds will not be subsidized but will be given free to all qualified farmers, emphasizing their significant contribution in food security.
The subsidized seeds will benefit more than 120 local farmers supporting the December 2021 – April 2022 cropping period.
