Shooting incident transpired at Purok Sampaguita, Brgy. Napolan, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at about 7:40 PM of August 27, 2020. the victim identified as Pedro Alisaca Alcasid, 74 years old, male, married, farmer and a resident of Purok Sampaguita, Napolan, Pagadian City and the suspect identified as Virgilio Traya Alcasid, 50 years old, male, single, construction worker and a resident of the same place.
Investigation conducted disclosed that while the victim having a dinner together with his wife outside their bungalow house particularly at their makeshift kitchen, out of nowhere suspect appeared and called the attention of the victim, the latter asked the suspect on what he wanted on that evening. According to the victim’s wife, suspect uttered inaudible words and there upon fired four times hitting the chest and stomach of the victim with the use of a caliber .45 pistol.
The victim was immediately brought to Pagadian City Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. Suspect fled towards Purok Nazareth, Buenavista, Pagadian City.
Motive of the incident is believed to be personal grudge in relation to their land conflict. PNP personnel of Pagadian City Police Station are now conducting hot pursuit operation for the possible arrest of the fleeing suspect. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
