Shooting Incident At Purok Anahaw, Brgy. Dawa-Dawa, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay

Shooting incident transpired at Purok Anahaw, Brgy. Dawa-Dawa, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay at 6:00 AM of January 2, 2020. The victim was identified as Ernesto Caes Pilones, 45 years old, married, fisherman, and resident of Purok Anahaw, Brgy. Dawa-Dawa, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay and the suspect was identified as PFC Norman Tamang Maradi, Detachment Commander of 44th Infantry Battalion, PA, Sitio Guicam Patrol Base, single, 27 years old, and resident of Brgy. Martirez, Jolo Sulu.

Initial investigation disclosed that at about 5:40 AM of same date, the said Brgy Captain of Brgy. Dawa-dawa, Alicia, went to Purok Anahaw, Brgy. Dawa-Dawa, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay Province escorted by the said AFP personnel to verify reports of uncoordinated LSI in the area.

Upon arrival thereat, the victim approached the team and went amok, and threatened them with his bolo. The Brgy. Captain tried to pacify the victim until they reached at the swampy area of the said place; the victim drew his Cal 38 revolver and pointed it to the Brgy. Captain.

Thereafter, upon sensing that the life of the Brgy. Captain is in imminent danger, the escort PFC Norman Tamang Maradi immediately fired towards the said person hitting on his body that resulted to his death.

Victim sustained three (3) gunshot wounds on his body. Alicia Municipal Police Station (MPS) personnel conducted thorough investigation and body search to the victim and confiscated one (1) unit revolver Cal. 38, one (1) bolo and a wrist watch. PFC Norman Tamang Maradi was brought to Alicia MPS for proper disposition.
