Shooting incident transpired at Purok 3, Brgy. Limonan, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur at 8:10 PM of November 22, 2020. The victim was identified as Tinmy Alfaro Rosello, 25 years old, male, married, and a resident of Purok 3, Brgy. Limonan, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur while suspect was identified as Juvel Baterna Malantig, 26 years old, male, married, and a resident of Purok 1, Limonan, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur.
Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim was laid on the hanging cradle outside his house when suddenly the suspect allegedly armed with caliber .45 pistol shot the victim hitting on his body which resulted to his instantaneous death. Motive of the incident believed to be personal grudge.
The suspect was immediately arrested by the responding PNP personnel of San Miguel Municipal Police Station while the firearm used by the suspect was not recovered and only two fired cartridge casing was recovered at the crime scene.
Arrested suspect is now under the temporary custody of San Miguel Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
