Shooting incident transpired at Kilometer 56, Purok 6, Brgy. Buenavista, Zamboanga City at 10:45 PM of October 1, 2020. PCPT. Martin M. Baclayo, Station Commander of Zamboanga City Police Station 2 identified the victim as Alberto Francisco Barcelona, 52 years old, School Principal at Barangay Muti Elementary School, male, married and resident of abovementioned place.
The lifeless body of victim was found lying in a hammock with visible gunshot wounds on different parts of his body when the responding police arrived at the crime scene.
Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the incident; victim was sitting on his hammock drinking coffee when unidentified suspects surfaced and shot the victims several times. The relatives of the victim who are residents in the area revealed that they heard several gunshots coming from the victim’s house that prompted them to rush to the crime scene and found the victim lying apparently dead.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body that caused his instantaneous death.
Recovered from the crime scene were 10 empty shells and 2 slugs coming from a suspected caliber 45 pistol. Zamboanga City Police Station 2 is still conducting thorough investigation regarding the said incident.(PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
