Shooting incident transpired at Brgy. Poblacion, Baliguian, Zamboanga Del Norte at 2:43 PM of October 4, 2020. The victim was identified as Joseph S. Tejero, 51 years old, married, a Barangay Chairman of aforementioned place.
Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim was inside his residence when three unidentified persons surfaced and shot the victim using a caliber .45 pistol based on the recovered 4 empty shells and 1 unfired cartridge at the crime scene. Victim sustained multiple gunshot wound in the different parts of his body that resulted to his instantaneous death.
As per witness’s testimony, they saw three persons on board two different motorcycles fled after the incident towards the direction of Siocon, Zamboanga Del Norte.
PNP personnel from Baliguian Municipal Police Station are now conducting hot pursuit operation for the possible identification and arrest of the suspects. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
