4 Dead in a Vehicular Traffic Accident in Dinas
A vehicular accident transpired along the provincial road of Barangay Dimaya Proper, Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur at 3:15 p.m. of May 11, 2021 involving a gray Mitsubishi Fuso truck, bearing plate number CAY 9938, driven by Jamalius Aguilar Fernandez and a black and white Honda XRM 125 motorcycle, without plate number, driven by Manny Denopol Cais, 33 years old, married, resident of Purok 12, Sitio Cudilog, Barangay Población, Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur. Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the Mitsubishi Fuso truck was traversing from Tabina to Aurora, upon reaching the place of incident, it accidentally engaged in a head-on collision with the Honda XRM motorcycle which was travelling in opposite direction from Margosatubig. As a result, the driver of the motorcycle and the two back riders Helen Taala Tingoha and Princess Aiko Manga Cais died on the spot, while the other back rider Eugene Taala Tingoha was brought to Chavez Medical Clinic but died while undergoing treatment. The cadavers of the victims are now laid at Saint Peter Funeral Homes, Betinan, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. The driver of Mitsubishi Fuso is now under police custody while the truck is impounded for further criminal investigation.
CTG Surrenderee Arrested for Attempted Homicide in Dumingag
PNP personnel of Dumingag Municipal Police Station (MPS) together with Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Mobile Force Company and 902nd Maneuver Company conducted joint law enforcement operation through service of warrant of arrest at Barangay San Pablo, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur at about 10:00 a.m. of May 11, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Sylvia Cordesar Edo, 27 years old, single, CTG surrenderee, resident of Purok 2, Barangay Saad, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. He was arrested for the crime of Attempted Homicide docketed under criminal case No. 5327-D signed by Hon. Crislyn C. Pangindian-Sancho, Presiding Judge 11th MCTC of Mahayag-Dumingag & Josefina 9th Judicial Region Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur dated April 14, 2021 with recommended bail of thirty-six thousand pesos (₱ 36,000.00). He is now temporarily detained at Dumingag MPS for documentation and proper disposition.
Man Arrested in Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Sta. Catalina
Station Drug Enforcement Team of Zamboanga City Police Station 5 conducted buy-bust operation at Weguiao Drive, Barangay Sta Catalina, Zamboanga City at 12:05 a.m. of May 12, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Benzar Umbuk y Ating, 39 years old, male, married, college undergraduate, jobless, and a resident of Barangay Sta. Catalina, Zamboanga City. Recovered from his possession were six (6) heat sealed plastic sachets of suspected Shabu with an estimated value of ₱ 6,800.00 weighing 1 gram, one (1) empty cigarette pack and two (2) bills of ₱ 100.00 as marked money. He is now under the custody of the said police station in preparation of filing of appropriate charges in court. All recovered items will be brought to Zamboanga City Crime Laboratory Office for examination.
