“The Western Mindanao Command is pleased with the upshot of the impartial investigation conducted by the NBI on the shooting incident involving the military and the police which transpired on June 29, 2020.
Probable cause was found which merited to the filing of the cases of Murder and Planting of Evidence at the Department of Justice to the accused police personnel.
The filing of charges was based on the facts gathered which go beyond what is apparent in the CCTV footage that recorded the incident.
Our sincere appreciation to all the people who are with us in the quest for justice in favor of the slain soldiers. The road towards the final verdict may still be long but we are relieved knowing that the first phase was already completed.
The WestMinCom and the entire AFP will closely monitor the development of this case, from the filing of appropriate charges to the rendering of judgment.
Again, we appeal to the public not to sensationalize this case for we do not want any escalation of hostilities out of it. “
