A total of 770 disadvantaged and displaced workers in Iriga City received their TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers) payout today at the Iriga City Sports Center, Sta. Cruz Sur. The program, which aims to provide short-term employment, was made possible through the funding of PHP 3 million from the late DOLE Regional Director Zenaida Angara-Campita and an additional PHP 1 million from Senator Francis Tolentino.
The collaboration of DOLE and LGU-IRIGA ensures that programs like TUPAD reach their intended beneficiaries, providing a much-needed economic boost for families affected by the recent downturn in the job market. The initiative, aligned with the city’s goal to empower its citizens, is expected to continue helping the community recover and grow in the coming months.
