Reimagining the local street park experience into an integrated urban street living with modern conveniences, Parqal is set to become the ideal model of a community-focused development. “Everything is in Parqal. As interesting as its name that was derived from the words Park and Kalye, Parqal’s architectural expression for all its nine buildings highlights the architectural design of the Filipino-Spanish home with its modernized take on the “Bahay-Na-Bato.” Each building is also named according to the materials used in building the original Filipino abode developed during the Spanish colonial era. Imagine having a leisure stroll or taking a mid-day break while being charmed by this historically and culturally inspired architecture. The development was thoughtfully designed by AEDAS, an international architecture and design firm in collaboration with local architecture heavyweight, Visionarch.
From one milestone to another
Amid the challenges brought by the pandemic and with the year ending, DMW recently celebrated Parqal’s topping off ceremony and shortly after, received the 5-Star BERDE Certification from Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC) for its first phase. BERDE is a green building certification recognized by the national government under the Department of Energy given to a development that adheres to ecologically sound principles for its design, construction, maintenance, and building operations. Among Parqal’s green building features are energy and water consumption efficiency, placement of drought-resistant plants, usage of treated wastewater, bicycle facilities, convenient access to public transit and services, and installation of artworks from local Filipino artists.
With the increase in population comes the demand of sustainable urbanization.
