Region 1X is a part of western Mindanao. The place is rich in terms of culture and tradition, SUBANEN, MUISLIMs, KALIBUGAN, CHAVACANO and other unknown tribes are living together in the area.
But the long debate between academia and professionals is about the regional center of the region.
Now the regional offices were transferred in Pagadian city as a regional center. In order to balance the distance of the traveled people transacting businesses in the different regional offices the national Government signed an executive order for the transfer of the regional offices.
But if you try to look at the map of the region many people say that the town IPIL is the CENTER of REGION 1X. It is a progressive town in Zamboanga Sibugay, it is a crossing to Dipolog, Zamboanga city and Pagadian. (Bingo Villahermosa)
