Cooperatives and associations in Zamboanga del Sur recently received new machineries and equipment from the Department of Agriculture to support livestock, corn, organic farming, and rice programs. This includes hauling trucks, corn shellers, hog weighing scales, cassava chippers, tractors, and a mudboat.
The distribution event on Wednesday, October 30 was attended by 1st District Rep. Cong. Divina Grace Yu, City Councilor Kai-Kai Asugas and DA Region 9 officials led by Engr. Marcos C. Aves Jr.
Cong. Yu said that with this support from the national government, we are empowering our farmers and cooperatives with the tools they need to increase productivity and improve the quality of their produce.
