Davao City – A total of 93,468 senior citizens are now on the master list of the Davao City government to receive the anti-Covid shots that will start after the vaccination of medical front-line workers.

Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, the Head of the Vaccination Cluster of Davao City, said she still expects the number to increase as the registration is still ongoing.

The city targets to vaccinate 120,000 Dabawenyos under the Priority Group A2 or the senior citizens.

“The master listing is being done by two offices, which is the City Health Office (CHO), through the District Health Offices and the Office of the Senior Citizen (OSCA) under the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO),” Villafuerte said.

As to the venue for vaccination, Villafuerte said that the cluster has initially planned to immunize the senior citizens (60 to 65 years old) at the district health offices.

For senior citizens who are over 70 years old, the vaccine cluster is still finalizing a strategy for vaccination.

“We are set to meet with the different hospitals in Davao City on the other vaccination hubs for the senior citizens who are 75 above, considering their comorbidities,” she said.

Currently, there are two (2) methods of registration for vaccination being done by the City Health Office. First, the manual listing or where the residents go directly to their District Health Offices and fill out the registration form, and, second is through the Covid-19 vaccination hotlines. The hotlines are 0961 073 4965 for Smart users and 0927 022 9087 for Globe users.

Villafuerte added that the set-up of the registration is expected to be more convenient anytime soon as the city will pilot the integration of the vaccination registration to the Safe Davao QR.

The City Government of Davao is still vaccinating its frontline workers under the Priority Group A1.
