The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) have revealed a soar when it comes to online business registration in Zamboanga City due to the pandemic being experienced nationwide.

Grace Aduca, DTI provincial director told RPN DXXX Zamboanga, for 2019 January to August the office registered 155 those who registered their online business while for 2020 same period, the office registered 605 online businesses.

She said, the reason for the increase of those registering their online business is the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

Customers are also avoiding the hassle of long lines, having to sign the health forms so most of the businesses prefer to go online.

These online businesses can register with DTI either face to face or online at www.dti.gov.ph.

If they want to register in barangay level payment is at ₱ 230, City is ₱ 530, Region is ₱ 1,030 and National is ₱ 2,030. They also need duly accomplished application form and payment.

According to Aduca, mostly of those who registered were on food business.

Advantage of registering their online business are their business is protected and they can avail of government services. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
