Zamboanga del Sur – The Department of Agriculture-Philippine Carabao Center in coordination with DA-PCC Mindanao livestock production center, Baclay Multipurpose cooperative and Women’s Federation, the local government of Dumalinao municipality officially introduce its first ever manufactured goods -the Dairy Box that showcases product made from Carabao milk.
DA-PCC often gives technical assistance from production up to marketing in which the project is in part of Carabao-based business improvement network (CBIN) funded by Senate Committee on Agriculture, food and agrarian reform headed by Senator Cynthia Villar. It is also in conformity with Agriculture secretary William Dar for farmers goal, ” Ani, Mataas na Kita”
Spearheaded by Dumalinao Municipality Mayor, Junaflor “Sweet” Cerilles, the launching of the said product turn out success. An ice cream made from Carabao milk is now the latest crave in borough as ‘One town, one product’ theme in town. On her facebook post, Mayor Cerilles express gratitude to all the person behind this accomplishment. “this project is a realization of the dream and vision we had during our benchmarking trip to India years before. Thank you Senator Cynthia Villar for the vision of improving the economic status of our dairy farmers and making them known in the country”. she said.
