New Cancer Center Opens In Zamboanga City

As we continue to battle the pandemic, the city must continue to battle other diseases as well, including cancer.

One significant development in health services in Zamboanga City is the recent opening of the West Metro Cancer Center (WMCC). The 730 sqm facility houses state of the art radiation therapy equipment. Radiation therapy or radiotherapy is a cancer treatment that uses high doses of radiation to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors with extraordinary precision.

This is only the second such facility in Zamboanga City, after Zamboanga City Medical Center. It is the first private cancer center in the region. This development translates to giving cancer patients in the region more treatment options. This also addresses the problem of patients needing to go to Metro Manila and other cities for their radiation therapy.

The facility is located beside West Metro Medical Center on Veterans Avenue Extension for easy access to all. The cancer center is connected to the medical center via a fully enclosed bridge.

The cancer center is a one-stop shop for cancer treatments and diagnostic procedures. Aside from radiation therapy, the Cancer Center offers medical and surgical cancer treatments as well as advanced diagnostic and laboratory services to treat the full range of malignancies with extraordinary precision.
