Monitor entry of all foreigners in checkpoints – Task Force Zamboanga chief to troops (To deter entry of corona virus)

Military checkpoints in Zamboanga were alerted Thursday to closely monitor the entry of all foreign nationals coming in the city, who may be afflicted with the 2019 novel Coronavirus.
Col. Antonio John Divinagracia, head of Task Force Zamboanga gave the order, to profile all incoming foreigners before giving safe passage into the city.
“Who knows they might have come from China or other countries which now has the coronavirus,” Divinagracia said.
Checkpoints were set up at strategic areas in the city, in all entry and exit points such as in the barangays of Licomo, Muti Sangali and Culianan, all in the East coast of the city, and Limpapa in the West Coast.
Divinagracia also ordered his troops to fully implement the policy of “No ID, No entry”, even without martial law.
At present, Divinagracia said, there are two battalions of soldiers under his command to help and assist line agencies, like health officials in case there will be a suspected case here in the city.
The number of troops is capable to lock down the city to prevent a spread of the disease.
“It is our mandate to help and assists the government if it is necessary”, Divinagracia stressed.
