“Mask And Face Shield Equals 96% Protection” – Galvez

Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., chief implementer of National Task Force (NTF) on COVID-19, asked Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia to sustain his stringent protocols in handling the pandemic and have more preventive measures to combat the virus.

“Mayor, just sustain your stringent protocols to reduce your active cases to a manageable level,” Galvez told Leonardia during their phone text exchanges.

This developed after appealed to Galvez and other key officials in the National IATF to retain the MGCQ status of Bacolod.

But Galvez also enumerated preventive measures to be implemented in order to level up the fight against the virus.

“We need to level [up] our contact-tracing and include the use of mask and face shield for public transport, when having a crowd of more than 5 and going to the malls and market. Mask and faceshield equals 96% protected,” Galvez added.

He also told the mayor to “prevent mass gathering in confined space, avoid close contact and unnecessary movement.”
