As of 8 am today we are still a COVID-FREE municipality. Currently, we are actively monitoring a total of 47 persons, all locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs). 37 of them are under home quarantine while 10 are admitted in a Municipal Isolation Unit.

A total of 176 PUMs have been recorded since the start of June. Of these, 161 have undergone rapid testing and 7 have undergone RT-PCR testing. There are ZERO confirmed cases to date.

Gigaquit remains COVID-FREE for now. Still, we are prepared to handle and accept confirmed cases through the following efforts:
?Increasing the number of isolation facilities in Gigaquit
?Timely purchasing of the needed medicines and Personal Protective Equipment
?Organizing and training contact tracing teams
?Close teamwork between the municipal agencies and barangay agencies
? Active surveillance of communities through the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERT)
? Keeping communication lines open 24/7 through the Covid Hotline
?Active participation of the Oplan Balik Gigaquit core group in making sure all Gigaquitnons return home safely
