Police personnel of Leon B. Postigo Municipal Police Station (MPS) together with the BFAR personnel from Dipolog City and Fish Warden/Bantay Dagat of Leon B. Postigo conducted law enforcement operation against illegal fishing at the municipal seawater of Poblacion, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte at about 3:00 AM of September 21, 2020. This resulted to the arrest of Isagani Perez Lacquio, Jr. a.k.a. “Gani”, 31 years old, male, single, Jay R Escalante Tacloban, 23 years old, male, single, both residents of Bantayan, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte for violation of Municipal Fishing Ordinance No. 06-02 Article X (unauthorized fishing, encroaching within municipal water jurisdiction and use of superlight).
Confiscated during said operation where five (5) boxes/case catch fish sardinella longicep (tuloy) with an estimated weight of two hundred kilograms (200 grams) and with a value amounting to Three Thousand Pesos (₱ 3,000.00), fishing boats and other fishing paraphernalia.
Arrested suspects were under the police custody at Leon B. Postigo MPS for documentation and proper disposition while the confiscated five (5) boxes/case catch fish sardinella longicep (tuloy) are now under the custody of the Office of the Municipal Agriculture (OMA)/fisheries staff and Bantay Dagat.
