In its intensified campaign against illegal drugs, the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO 5) scored another victory with the successful arrest of a suspected drug pusher and the confiscation of high-value illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Bulusan, Libon, Albay at around midnight on July 11, 2025.
The operation was jointly led by operatives of Libon Municipal Police Station, the Provincial Intelligence Unit of Albay Police Provincial Office (PPO), and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 5.
The suspect, identified by his alias “Ben,” 37 years old, married, a delivery rider, and a resident of Barangay Bagumbayan, Legazpi City, was apprehended after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer. Further search resulted in the recovery of 200 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P1,360,000.00.
The suspect and the confiscated evidence are now under the custody of Libon MPS for proper disposition. A criminal case for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is being prepared for filing against the suspect. ###
