In line with the ongoing efforts to reduce teenage pregnancy and promote family planning, the City Government of Iriga conducted the Adolescent Health and Development Program (AHDP) on June 16, 2025, at the Balay Silangan Building, City Hall Compound, Sta. Cruz Sur, Iriga City. The event forms part of the continued implementation of the High-Level Management Program (HLMP) 2024 and aims to strengthen the city’s commitment to high-impact interventions.
The activity was spearheaded by Dr. Ronald G. Perena, in collaboration with the city’s Population Officers, Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) Coordinator, and Family Planning (FP) Coordinator. The program is also supported by The Challenge Initiative (TCI), which highlights Iriga City’s goal of becoming an adolescent-friendly city. Among the agenda items discussed were demand generation activities, updates on teenage pregnancy case reports, and Family Planning services, including the Contraceptive Prevalence Rate (CPR). These accomplishments are set to be formally reported to Mayor Rex C. Oliva before the program’s scheduled graduation in September 2025.
Mayor Rex Oliva has been unwavering in his full support for the program, ensuring continued progress and active assessment of outcomes to secure a healthier future for Irigueño youth.
