Iriga: FSP Bikol Scholar Named Finalist in Ten Outstanding Students of Bicol 2026

    A third-year BS Fisheries student from Central Bicol State University of Agriculture-Calabanga Campus has earned recognition as one of the region’s Top 20 finalists of the Ten Outstanding Students of Bicol (TOSB) 2026.

    Diana Luares was named among the finalists of the prestigious award, which honors exemplary students who demonstrate academic excellence, servant leadership, and strong community engagement.

    A daughter of a fisherfolk, Luares exemplified excellence beyond the classroom through her commitment to the protection and conservation of fisheries and aquatic resources. Her advocacy reflects her passion for sustainable fisheries and her dedication to empowering coastal communities through education and environmental stewardship.

    As one of the Top 20 finalists, Luares received a Php 30,000 cash prize and a certificate during the awarding ceremony held on May 15, 2026 at Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges. The awarding ceremony was led by Atty. Alfredo Garbin, Ako Bikol Representative, who recognized the achievements and contributions of the region’s outstanding students.

    The Ten Outstanding Students of Bicol is regarded as one of the prestigious recognitions bestowed upon student leaders in the region, highlighting young individuals who excel not only in academics but also in leadership and service to their communities.
