Thirty-seven agricultural machines were turned over to Farmers’ Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) in Albay by the Department of Agriculture–Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization.
The ceremonial turnover was conducted in partnership with the Albay Provincial Agricultural Office.
A total of 22 FCAs received equipment such as four-wheel tractors and rice combine harvesters for land preparation, harvesting, processing, drying, and milling.
Provincial Agriculturist Cheryll O. Rebeta said the machinery will ease the burden of limited farm labor and improve field preparation and harvest efficiency.
She emphasized that the machines are a major boost for farmers, helping them complete farm tasks faster despite the shortage of workers.
The support was provided under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund program, which aims to improve farm productivity through modern mechanization.
