Iriga: DSWD Bicol, Comelec raise voters awareness vs. vote buying and vote selling during AICS payout

Camarines Sur โ€“ The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office V-Bicol Region, in coordination with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) conducted โ€œ๐—œ๐—ป๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฉ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—˜๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ž๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ ๐—•๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ปโ€ in Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Offsite Serbisyo payout venues.

The joint effort took place during a payout event in Iriga City and Pili, Camarines Sur, today, April 9, 2025.

This initiative aims to inform the public about the importance of voters education and support the Kontra Bigay Campaign, a Comelec’s intensified crackdown on vote-buying and vote-selling. Furthermore, this awareness campaign seeks to prevent any misuse of state assistance and uphold the values of a transparent and trustworthy electoral system.

This partnership follows the directives of Secretary Rex Gatchalian, as he welcomed the commissionโ€™s recommendation in inviting the local Comelec officials during the distributions.

DSWD Bicol, led by Regional Director Norman S. Laurio, emphasized its commitment to ensuring the integrity of state resources and promoting a fair, clean election process.
