On May 9, 2024, Undersecretary of Health, Dr. Gloria J. Balboa, DOH Bicol CHD OIC Regional Director, Dr. Rodolfo Antonio M. Albornoz, and Philippine Multi-sectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) Project Leader, Dr. Maria Ofelia C.O. Alcantara, led the meeting with Masbate Provincial Governor, Hon. Antonio T. Kho, Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Luisito Co, and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Director Norman S. Laurio at the Masbate Capitol Building.
The meeting aimed to discuss and realign the plans and programs of DOH in accordance with the implementation of the PMNP in the Province of Masbate.
As a multi-sectoral project, DOH was able to emphasize the crucial role of partnership in improving nutrition-sensitive interventions to address all forms of malnutrition in target local government units (LGUs).
Also present were Masbate Sangguniang Panlalawigan Chairman on Health, Board Member Atty. Allan Cos; Municipal Mayor of Esperanza and President of the League of Municipal Mayors Hon. Fernando P. Talisic; Provincial Information Offer Mr. Nonielon C. Bagalihog Jr.; Dr. Kathleen June Azagra, Deputy Team Leader for Operations of PMNP, Mr. John Oliver Estadilla; DOH Bicol CHD Regulation, Licensing, and Enforcement Division Chief, Atty. Alexis Albao; PMNP Regional Coordinator, Ms. Christine Espiritu; and OIC Provincial DOH Officer, Dr. June Orense.
