The City Government of Iriga, through the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO) headed by Ms. Amor S. Auro, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), officially opened the two-day Diskwento Caravan 2026 this morning at the Iriga City Park. The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Rex C. Oliva, Vice Mayor Edsel S. Dimaiwat, Councilor Jor-El O. Caayao, Chair of the SP Committee on Trade, Commerce, and Industry, and Ferdinand S. Bercasio, Division Chief of the Consumer Protection Division of the DTI.
A total of 21 exhibitors from various parts of Camarines Sur participated in the caravan, offering a wide range of food and non-food products at discounted prices, from fresh fruits and vegetables, processed foods, and grocery items, to appliances and general merchandise. Adding to the excitement, the Department of Agriculture joined the caravan today, offering rice at ₱21 per kilo for eligible beneficiaries.
In his speech, Mayor Rex expressed his gratitude to all the exhibitors who made the trip to Iriga City, as well as to the partner agencies and stakeholders whose cooperation and support brought the event to life. The Diskwento Caravan reflects the City Government’s commitment to making quality goods more accessible and affordable for every Irigueño. The caravan runs through June 10, 2026, and Irigueños are encouraged to visit and take advantage of the discounted prices.
