Iriga City’s very own Zeferino Arroyo High School brought home pride and honor after representing the city and the Bicol Region (Region V) at the 2026 National Festival of Talents (NFOT) held in Roxas City, Capiz.

The talented group of student-artists made a courtesy call to Mayor Rex C. Oliva at the City Mayor’s Office to share their achievement as 2nd Runner Up in the highly competitive PinaSayaw contest. As a sign of appreciation for their hard work and for putting Iriga City on the national map, the City Government provided a cash gift of ₱1,000 to each member of the team to celebrate their success.

In addition to their meeting with the Mayor, the team was also honored at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Regular Session this morning. They were warmly received by Vice Mayor Edsel S. Dimaiwat and the City Councilors, who extended their congratulations on behalf of the city. To formally mark this milestone, the City Council has proposed a resolution congratulating the team for their outstanding national performance.

PinaSayaw is a prestigious NFOT category that focuses on “transformational dance,” challenging student-artists to address social issues through a fusion of classical, contemporary, folk, and modern choreography. By prioritizing raw technical mastery, the contest prepares these young artists for professional careers in the global creative industry.

    Congratulations to our talented student-artists:
