On April 1, 2024, the Bureau of Fire Protection Region 5 Fire Prevention Month Culminating Activity was held at Ayala Mall in Legazpi City. The City Government of Iriga was invited, along with members of the Bureau of Fire Protection-Iriga City and the Community Fire Auxiliary Group – Team Oragon. Ms. Jasmin B. Botor, Acting CDRRM Officer, attended the event where she received a trophy on behalf of Mayor Rex, recognizing his support for BFP Region 5, particularly for extending invaluable assistance to the Iriga City CFAG Team, which was declared the Overall Champion at the 8th National Fire Olympics held in Baguio City’s Melvin Jones Park last March 19-21, 2024.
During the event, Team Oragon from Iriga City was also awarded a Certificate of Recognition for their outstanding performance in the competition. The team was praised for their skills and expertise in firefighting, which helped them emerge as the top performers in the category.
Mayor Rex and the City of Iriga are grateful for this recognition of the city government’s efforts in promoting community awareness during Fire Prevention Month.
