Iriga City Defeats Albay in Arnis Championship Game

An intense match between Mark Ian Alangcao of Iriga City Division and Norman Jude Marollano of Albay Division was witnessed by the crowd in the Arnis championship game held at Ligao West Central School gymnasium, Ligao City yesterday afternoon, May 1, 2024.

The heat in the playing venue and the cheers of the crowd added to the excitement as players showed off the firepower punches and strategies for the thirst for gold.

The first round unfolded with Alangcao showcasing speed and precision, securing an evident lead over his rival. With exact moves and calculated strikes, he showcased his mastery of the art, earning crucial points and gaining momentum early. Despite Marollano’s dauntless effort to mount a comeback, Alangcao maintained his confident defense and held on the lead, ultimately sealing the first round with a score of 4-2

In the second round of combat, both players showed off aggressiveness. Alangcao outpours his strategic moves and strikes which slightly weakens the opponent resulting to a score of 3-2 that his opponent finds hard to guard with a score of 3-2

Alangcao’s victory qualifies him to represent Bicol Region in the Palarong Pambansa this year.
