Today’s flag raising ceremony was spearheaded by the City Architect’s Office, led by City Architect Romano R. Alvaro. The gathering served as a venue to recognize professional milestones and reinforce the city’s commitment to both the development and well-being of its workforce.
Following the morning rituals, Arch. Alvaro presented a comprehensive report on his office’s accomplishments from January 2026 to date. He also took the opportunity to introduce four Irigueños who successfully passed the January 2026 Licensure Examination for Architects: Danessa Irish B. Briones, Ralph Ranzel C. De Lima, Kristianna Georgina C. Lagrimas, and Vaughn Edward A. Novela.
During his presentation, Arch. Alvaro noted that Iriga City’s unique practice of providing compensation to architecture graduates during their two-year internship was highlighted during a recent national gathering of architects. It was recognized that Iriga City is currently the only local government unit in the country implementing this supportive program for aspiring professionals.
Representing the City Health Office, Mr. Victor V. Cervas announced the official launching of May Measurement Month (MMM2026) in Iriga City. This global awareness campaign focuses on the importance of regular blood pressure checks to combat hypertension. To implement this health initiative locally, the City Health Office will visit all 36 barangays in the city and will also visit every office within the Iriga City Hall to conduct screenings, examine personnel, and provide personalized health recommendations for employees based on their results.
During the program, Mayor Rex C. Oliva addressed the workforce and congratulated the City Agriculture Office for the successful conduct of the Mobile Soil Laboratory Caravan and Capacity Enhancement Training. He also recognized the nine employees who recently took their oath of office following their promotions and new appointments.
The Mayor highlighted recent infrastructure milestones, specifically the inauguration, blessing, and turnover of the newly constructed covered court at San Antonio Elementary School, noting that the next facility to be completed is in Del Rosario Banao. Additionally, he mentioned the Local School Board meeting held at San Antonio Elementary School following the inauguration.
Mayor Rex also expressed his pride in Iriga City serving as the host venue for the IECEP Regional Summit 2026, which focused on Governance, AI, and Industry Transformation. He emphasized that these topics are vital as the city actively gears towards full digitalization.
